SAMUEL DAWKINS RESERVE

COMMUNITY RESERVE DESIGN

1088 Dawkins Road, Gawler River

 —

The main elements  in the design are:

  • Bike track through the Reserve, some undulations but not too extreme;
  • Install a new shelter, revealing the view to the surrounding paddocks while still retaining a protected area for gatherings;
  • Basketball and netball court

  • Simple tap point for hand washing and drinking;
  • A swing, possibly basket or single;
  • Tower play unit–  for climbing with a natural aesthetic to blend with the surrounding environment;

  • Local rocks and logs for seating, incidental play and boundaries to paths and garden areas;
  • Landscape with low maintenance endemic vegetation
  • Discourage irresponsible use of the reserve with bollards and fencing to reduce car access;
